Thierry Mary, who is tied for 8th in the 3A- with a 7.6 K/9 rate, imposed his will on the Snowpeople from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 Moose Jaw triumph. Picking up the save was José Machado, his 5th. The Canucks improved their record to 25-29 with the win over Ellesmere Island.
Armando Sandoval had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Moose Jaw. He came through with a run-scoring triple to put Moose Jaw in front, 2-0.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Sandoval told the Moose Jaw Bulletin.
