Baby Blues Fall Short, 2-1, at Plattsburgh

The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish knocked off the Quebec City Baby Blues, 2-1, in M3L Low A action at Plattsburgh Park. Plattsburgh pitcher and Kansas City, Missouri, native Jeff Bean had an outstanding performance. The victory gives the Puffer Fish a record of 28-27.
The Baby Blues had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Puffer Fish going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old center fielder Jesús Moreno came to the plate. Moreno hit a 2-run home run on a 1-1 changeup from Quebec City hurler Jim Hunter. It was Moreno's 4th home run of the year.
"Bottom line," said Quebec City skipper Andrés Ventura, "we didn't play well enough to win."
