Ft. Worth center fielder Patrick Mathis contributed significantly to his team's 8-0 win over the Las Vegas Flamingos. Mathis, the 22nd overall pick in the 2053 draft, went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cattlemen. Marc Potts notched his 2nd save of the season. Ft. Worth now has a record of 26-23 with the win.

The Flamingos had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Cattlemen going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Willie Nelson came to the plate. Nelson hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch fastball from Las Vegas hurler Nick Middleton. It was Nelson's 8th home run of the year.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Nelson.
