A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Northwest Territory Beavers and Long Island Ducks.

The Northwest Territory Beavers took Long Island pitcher Curley Martha's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Ducks Park. The final score had Northwest Territory getting past the Ducks, 7-2. Martha went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 10. The win puts the Beavers at 26-31, while the Ducks drop to 27-30.

Northwest Territory used a timely hit from Dong-chan Yong to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Beavers ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"This team is real focused right now," said Northwest Territory manager Robert Acker.
