The Napanee Express topped the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 6-2, at Paints Ballpark. Napanee shortstop David Vargas was a spark plug for the offense. He went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The loss makes Ellesmere Island 25-33.
With Napanee leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Vargas hit a 2-run single off Ellesmere Island hurler Jesús Solís. It was the 34th hit of the season for Vargas and put his team ahead, 5-2.
