Andrei Demian, who is tied for 3rd in the 3A- in strikeouts with 66, had a strong outing for the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople against the Bethlehem Angel Kitties at The Igloo. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Demian yielded 3 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 5-4. The loss makes Bethlehem 22-37.
Andrés Vega, who is tied for 8th in the 3A- in hits with 63, helped out the Ellesmere Island cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 2 with 2 walks.
"That was a really good outing by Andrei," said Ellesmere Island manager Gary MacHardy.
