Loss to Shockers Extends Tijuana Losing Streak
Surprise center fielder Wayne Summers helped his team beat the Tijuana Toros, 7-2. Summers, who is tied for 2nd in the 3A- with a .368 batting average, went 3 for 5 for the Shockers. Salvador Árias, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Toros to 2 runs on 6 hits over 8.1 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 1. The losses continue to add up for Tijuana, which has now fallen 16 times in a row.

Surprise took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Summers hit a grand slam home run. His 15th home run of the season made the score 5-2, Surprise.

"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Ricardo Ruíz, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
