Getting an impressive start from Karl Roberts, Greenport beat Quebec City by the score of 3-2. The win belonged to Mario Happ in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Carl van Bekenes took the loss for Quebec City. The Harbor Whales improved to 26-35.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Yoshino Kichida, who is tied for 6th in the 3A- with a .355 on-base percentage, hit a solo home run. The Harbor Whales went on to win.

During his postgame press conference, Harbor Whales manager Mike Brown told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!"
