Rams Earn Late 4-3 Win
|
The Ladue Rams defeated the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 4-3, in part because of center fielder Tomás Guzmán. Guzmán went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk for the Rams. The winner was Hisanobu Harada in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Will Stephens took the loss. Ladue is now 31-33, Ellesmere Island 34-30.
The clutch at-bat in the bottom of the ninth belonged to Guzmán. Facing Miguel Sandoval with the bases loaded, the Ladue center fielder had a run-scoring walk. Game over, walk-off style!
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Guzmán. "You've got to get results."
