Long Island had no answer for Moose Jaw Canucks hurler John Weekhout, who overwhelmed Ducks hitters as the Canucks coasted to victory, 7-0. Weekhout, the winner, moves to 7-4. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up no walks. The Canucks saw their win-loss record go to 34-30. At the same time, the Ducks fell to 31-33.

Tak-keung Tai had a big 2-run double for the Canucks in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Moose Jaw leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Julien Jaffre and swatted a double to center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Canucks ahead, 5-0.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Tai.
