Bompton wasted a solid 6.1-inning effort from starting pitcher Chris Martin, losing to Plattsburgh, 2-1, at Plattsburgh Park. Derek MacIntosh earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. The first-place Puffer Fish hiked their record to 43-23.

The decisive blow was delivered by James Reed in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Omar Pineda to win the game for Plattsburgh. The home crowd went nuts.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Reed said.
