A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish and North Ft. Myers Gators.
Irving Ledesma was a vital contributor to the 8-1 Plattsburgh victory over North Ft. Myers. The Puffer Fish center fielder was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winning pitcher was Sean Long. His record is now 5-4. The right-hander went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits for the Puffer Fish. Roger Cain earned the save, his 1st.
With Plattsburgh leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Ledesma hit a fastball from Armando Ruíz for a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Puffer Fish ahead, 5-1.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Ledesma told the Plattsburgh News.
Plattsburgh raised its record to 41-26 with the win.
