Beavers Win, 3-1, Extend Hot Streak

Ballard and Ellesmere Island played a hard-fought contest.
The Ballard Beavers picked up a win at The Igloo, taking down the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 3-1. Starting pitcher Steven Collier was a big reason why. Ballard, at 47-21, is 5½ games up in the Menard's Low A.
Ballard used a clutch at-bat from Jurrie Kila to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Beavers ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I like our mindset right now," said Ballard manager Giddy Potts.
