Snowpeople Pull Off Thrilling 8-3 Win in Extras
|
The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople needed 10 innings to defeat the Ogallala Octopi, 8-3, at Nebraska Aquarium. Ellesmere Island third baseman Jerome Miller had a superb performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Miguel Sandoval claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 2-4. Ellesmere Island is now 35-34, Ogallala 35-34.
With the game tied in the top of the tenth, Miller hit a run-scoring double to put his team on top.
In postgame remarks, Miller simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
