Beavers Take Down Snowpeople, 13-10, in 10
Fans who congregated at The Igloo were treated to extra-inning drama.

The Ballard Beavers topped the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople by a score of 13-10 in 10 innings. Leading the way was designated hitter Adam McNeal. McNeal was 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Beavers. Ballard reliever Bobby Graham picked up the win to move to 2-1. Steven Cowan suffered the loss.

Ballard used the timely hitting of Jemke Coppens to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Beavers on top, 10-9. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Coppens told the Ballard Gazette.

The first-place Beavers are now 48-21, the Snowpeople 30-39.
