Pitcher Vincent Wood was sensational for the Napanee Express in his team's 7-1 triumph over the Ogallala Octopi. Wood earned the win. The winning pitcher was Wood, now 5-7. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. Napanee is now 41-30, while Ogallala is 36-35.

The Express got an important contribution from designated hitter Jim Henry, who in the bottom of the third hit a fastball to left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 21st double of the season and put the Express ahead, 3-0.

"Vincent was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Napanee manager Dan Bond.
