Baby Lakers Upend Interns, 5-2
|
Bompton pitcher Leonard Sheppard had a large part in his team beating the Capital Hill Interns, 5-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Sheppard picked up the win for Bompton, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-6. The Interns have now dropped 5 straight.
Bompton got a lift in the bottom of the second from catcher Elroy Schoon, who hit a fastball to right for a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Baby Lakers up, 3-0.
Afterward, Capital Hill manager Javier Browne said: "We've hit a rough patch."
