Snowpeople Suffer 3-2 Loss to Canucks
Moose Jaw and Ellesmere Island played a hard-fought contest.

The Moose Jaw Canucks eked out a 3-2 win versus the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople at The Igloo. Nobody did more than pitcher Nobuyoki Nii. He was terrific. In 5.2 innings, Nii surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs.

Moose Jaw used a clutch at-bat from John Witt to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Canucks ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Nii said.

The 7th-place Canucks go to 36-36.
