Napanee Claims 4-1 Victory
|
No one was more impactful than Dimacali Lontok in the 4-1 Napanee win over Greenport. Lontok, who is tied for 2nd in the 3A- in total bases with 158, was 2 for 2 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Picking up the win was Richie Ayala. He went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 1. Dillon Khassanov recorded his 14th save for Napanee.
Lontok had a key at-bat for Napanee in the top of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season and gave Napanee an early 2-0 lead.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Lontok told the Napanee Herald.
The 10th-place Express improved to 27-45.
