Ducks Suffer One-Run Loss at Capital Hill
|
The Long Island Ducks got a sterling performance from pitcher Ramón Gómes, but the Capital Hill Interns still prevailed, 2-1. Gómes threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Capital Hill pitcher Oscar Milledge got the win. He's now 2-1. Ramón Gómes was tagged with the loss. Capital Hill is now 36-37, Long Island 48-25.
Chi-ju Ge had a big run-scoring double for the Interns in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Capital Hill leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Ramón Gómes, who is tied for 3rd in the 3A- in complete games with 1, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Interns ahead, 2-0.
"Enjoyed this one," Ge told the Capital Hill Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
