Lee Kennedy pitched well, but the Bethlehem Angel Kitties still fell short, losing, 1-0, to the Ladue Rams at Kittie Park. Casey Gallagher got credit for the win, improving to 7-8. He allowed no runs on 8 hits in 8 innings. Robert Poynter notched his 14th save in 14 chances.

The Rams got a big at-bat from right fielder Frank Thompson. For the game, Thompson was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Ladue a 1-0 lead.

"That's baseball," said Bethlehem manager Miguel Martínez. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
