Beavers Take Tight Tilt
|
The Ballard Beavers eked out a 3-2 win versus the Memphis Music at The Beaver Dam. Nobody did more than pitcher Lloyd Johnston. He was terrific. Johnston, the winner, moves to 4-3. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk. Ron Inostraza notched his 10th save of the season.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Beavers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the seventh, when shortstop Jesús García hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Greg Campbell and made the score 2-1, Beavers. García was 1-3.
"That was a really good outing by Lloyd," said Ballard manager JoJo Victory.
At 48-25, Ballard is in second place in the Menard's Low A.
