In a low-scoring game between Quebec City and Ogallala, pitcher Lewis Jones was excellent. The Quebec City right-hander helped his team knock off the Octopi, 1-0. Carl van Bekenes collected his 10th save. Quebec City is now 34-40, Ogallala 37-37.

The Octopi had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Baby Blues going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old second baseman Luis Rodríguez came to the plate. Rodríguez hit a run-scoring double on a full count fastball from Ogallala hurler Greg Stone. It was Rodríguez's 17th double of the year.

"We did just enough to win," Rodríguez said.
