Gators Turn Back Express, 4-3

The Napanee Express and North Ft. Myers Gators provided some drama for the home crowd.
The North Ft. Myers Gators saddled the Napanee Express with a loss at Dodge Field. The final score was 4-3. Jon Turner was 3 for 4, including 2 singles and 1 home run. The North Ft. Myers right fielder scored 1 run and drove in 3. Chris Hamm picked up the win, lifting his record to 4-2 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 2 in 6.1 innings, while yielding 3 runs. Nando Arnoldi finished the game for North Ft. Myers and earned his 2nd save.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Gators sent teenager Guillermo Torres to the plate against Express hurler Beau Davis. With a runner on 3rd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a first pitch fastball to score 1.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Napanee manager Dan Bond, "let me know."
North Ft. Myers is now 34-40, Napanee 42-32.
