Gators Stick Snowpeople with 3-1 Loss
|
In a well-pitched game between the North Ft. Myers Gators and the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, pitcher Wes T. Walker was fantastic. The North Ft. Myers right-hander helped his team secure the win, 3-1. North Ft. Myers, at 45-29, sits in second place in the Menard's Low A.
Had José Hernández not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Hernández hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Gators.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Walker. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
