Both teams had their chances, but the Ogallala Octopi eventually prevailed.

In a close game at Nebraska Aquarium, the Ogallala Octopi edged the Quebec City Baby Blues, 5-4. Ogallala center fielder Felipe Mendoza stood apart with his performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Octopi saw their win-loss record go to 38-37. At the same time, the Baby Blues fell to 34-41.

A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Octopi sent 21-year-old pinch hitter Bobby Richards to the plate with a runner on 3rd. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a run-scoring single, to put Ogallala on top, 5-4.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Quebec City manager Mauro Rangel said, following the tough loss.
