Ducks Make It 4 In a Row with 2-0 Triumph Over Ogallala
The Long Island Ducks converted a terrific effort from starter Howard Chard into a win over the Ogallala Octopi at Ducks Park. The Ducks won the game by a final score of 2-0. Chard got the win, improving to 3-1. He gave up 2 hits and walked 4 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs. Picking up the save was 18-year old left-handed pitcher Tim Manning.

The Octopi had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Ducks going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old second baseman Kelvin Sullivan came to the plate. Sullivan hit a solo home run on a 0-1 splitter from Ogallala hurler Casey Coleman. It was Sullivan's 9th home run of the year.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Sullivan said.

The 4th-place Ducks have won 4 consecutive games.
