Ladue and Napanee got after it at Paints Ballpark.

Luis Rea, who is tied for 7th in the 3A- with a 7.4 K/9 rate, was terrific for the Ladue Rams in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Napanee Express. His performance earned Rea rave reviews. Rea, now 4-7, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 2, walking 5, and allowing 1 run.

Tomás Guzmán had a big 2-run triple for the Rams in the top of the fifth inning. With Ladue leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Trevor Park and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rams ahead, 4-0.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Guzmán.

The Rams raised their record to 39-41.
