Dylan Park was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Napanee Express and Quebec City Baby Blues.
The Napanee Express did just enough to sneak past the Quebec City Baby Blues, 5-4, at Dylan Park. Napanee pitcher Victor Griffin, in particular, had a standout performance. Griffin picked up the win for Napanee, going 8 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 6-6.
Napanee used the timely hitting of Robert Wright to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Express on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Victor throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Napanee manager Dan Bond.
Napanee has now won 5 straight.
