Baby Blues Stop Beavers, 5-2

Toby Sweet, who is tied for 10th in the 3A- in wins with 7, was locked in. The right-hander led the Quebec City Baby Blues to a 5-2 win against the Ballard Beavers at The Beaver Dam. Sweet picked up the win for Quebec City, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 9 hits. He now sports a record of 7-6. José Tobías closed the door for Quebec City, picking up his 8th save of the year.
Quebec City used a clutch hit from Sergio Ibarra to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Baby Blues ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Quebec City manager Koryusai Ohayashi.
The 7th-place Baby Blues are 37-43.
