Rams Need Extra Innings to Top Canucks, 5-3
|
The Ladue Rams and Moose Jaw Canucks fought to the finish at Foresters Stadium.
The Ladue Rams clipped the Moose Jaw Canucks, 5-3, in 12 innings at Foresters Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Ladue pitcher and Candelaria, Puerto Rico, native Andrés Díaz. Ronnie Palmer, 5-6, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings.
Ladue used a timely hit from Jason Vogel to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Rams ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"Andrés did a good job mixing and matching," said Ladue manager Ricardo Varela.
With the victory, the Rams record stands at 34-47.
