Snowpeople Take Tight Tangle
The Northwest Territory Beavers and Ellesmere Island Snowpeople provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Northwest Territory catcher David Ruíz by beating the Beavers, 6-5, at The Igloo. Ruíz was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Steven Cowan was called on to finish, recording his 17th save.

Ellesmere Island went up, 6-5, on Earnest Wright's 7th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Wright hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Northwest Territory pitcher Ismael Riddles Jr. shaking his head.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Northwest Territory manager Robert Acker. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."

The 11th-place Snowpeople improved to 31-50.
