Manny Rodríguez closed the door for Long Island, picking up his 23rd save of the year. Long Island bumps their record to 40-41 with the win.

The Ducks benefited from a costly error in the top of the sixth. With Kernie LeBlanc at bat and Long Island leading 2-0, the Capital Hill miscue allowed Long Island to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-0.

In postgame remarks, LeBlanc applauded his team's "toughness."
