Riding the 3-hit performance of the 21-year old second baseman Dave Beck, the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish defeated the Ballard Beavers, 7-1. Plattsburgh, now 54-27, holds down first place in the Menard's Low A.

Beck had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth to put Plattsburgh in front, 2-0. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Ballard pitcher Manny Cruz.

Beck said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a good feeling in the clubhouse right now."
