Watford City Wins, Day scores 3 runs

Watford City and Long Island got after it at Trash Panda Field.
The Watford City Trash Pandas trumped the Long Island Ducks, 9-3, at Trash Panda Field. Watford City left fielder Jonathan Day was terrific. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Sander Aalbers picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-3. Manuel Javier was tagged with the loss.
West Seneca, New York-born Chris Reyes came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded and the Trash Pandas trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Watford City on top.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Reyes.
By defeating Long Island, the 4th-place Trash Pandas improved to 49-33.
