Snowpeople Dealt 5-1 Loss by Long Island
|
The Long Island Ducks knocked off the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 5-1, in M3L Low A action at Ducks Park. Long Island pitcher and Hauterive, Canada, native Jim Milley had an outstanding performance. Milley got the win, improving to 11-3. He gave up 6 hits and walked 0 over 8.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Ducks improved to 39-43.
Robert Scott had a big 2-run double for the Ducks in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Long Island leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Daniel Bruno, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2056 draft, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ducks ahead, 3-0.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Long Island manager .
