Beavers Fall Short, 4-3, at Napanee
|
Ballard catcher Alejandro Hernández had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Hernández went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, even as Napanee beat the Beavers, 4-3. Vincent Wood got the win, improving to 4-8. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Napanee now has a record of 46-36 with the win.
Jim Henry went 1 for 4 with a double for Napanee. The 20-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Daniel Cummins. It was his 5th RBI of the season.
Napanee manager Dan Bond praised his team's "energy."
