Puffer Fish Lose 9-5 Decision to Greenport
The Greenport Harbor Whales trumped the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, 9-5, at Plattsburgh Park. Greenport third baseman Claudio Maldonado was terrific. He was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Mario Happ closed it out for Greenport, earning his 17th save. The Harbor Whales win now puts them at 35-48.

Mickael Leconte, who is tied for 8th in the 3A- in stolen bases with 8, aided the Greenport cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the second. For the game, the designated hitter was 2-3 with a double and 2 walks.

"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Maldonado.
