Baby Blues Lose Late to Rams
|
Ernesto Chávez, who is tied for 6th in the 3A- in complete games with 1, was locked in. The left-hander led the Ladue Rams to a 4-2 win against the Quebec City Baby Blues at Ballpark of Wellsville. Ladue reliever Avery Hess picked up the win to move to 2-0. Kenzo Suzuki suffered the loss. Ronnie Palmer locked down his 11th save.
Jaime Vega found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Quebec City hurler Kenzo Suzuki, the 19-year-old pinch hitter drew a walk, driving in 1 run. His 4th walk of the season put the Rams on top, 3-2.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Ladue manager Ricardo Varela. "Our pregame was pretty good."
Ladue is now 35-49, while Quebec City is 39-45.
