Harbor Whales Earn Late Win
|
Greenport Harbor Whales starter Dan McFarland hurled his team past the Ladue Rams, 2-1. Greenport bumps their record to 51-34 with the win.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Greenport trailing 1-0, Jim Stroud hit a fastball from Hisanobu Harada to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Harbor Whales had a walk-off win.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Greenport manager Mike Brown said.
