Pitcher Dan Cortés was sensational for the Greenport Harbor Whales in his team's 3-0 triumph over the Long Island Ducks. Cortés picked up the win, and it was well-earned. Anastasio Orozco picked up the save, his 19th. The winning continues for Greenport, with the latest making it 8 straight.
Lanny Coleman had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Greenport. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Greenport in front, 2-0.
"Dan was able to execute his pitches," said Greenport manager Mark Tillman. "Simple as that."
