Ducks Come Up Short at Bethlehem, 1-0
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Bethlehem Angel Kitties and the Long Island Ducks, Lee Kennedy, who is tied for 4th in the 3A- in innings pitched with 112.2, was the difference-maker. The Bethlehem right-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. Kennedy got the win, improving to 7-6. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed no runs. Bethlehem, at 41-45, sits in 7th place in the Menard's Low A.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Angel Kitties had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when right fielder Jessie Wynn hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Jesús Hernández and made the score 1-0, Angel Kitties. Wynn was 1 for 3 with a hit by pitch.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Wynn.
