Harbor Whales Walk It Off for 45th Win of Season
|
Long Island got a valiant performance from pitcher Ramón Gómes, but it wasn't enough to beat the Greenport Harbor Whales. Greenport won the game, 3-2. Gómes threw 8.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. At 45-42, the Harbor Whales find themselves in 6th place in the Menard's Low A.
The Harbor Whales got a clutch hit from designated hitter Budharatna Rekha. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Harbor Whales.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Mike Brown, the Greenport manager.
