Ballard got a terrific game from right fielder Marc Maron. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Quebec City, 4-3. Maron was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. Quebec City is now 41-46.

Quebec City right fielder Pancho López made an impact. He drilled a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. In the contest, López went 1 for 3 with a walk.

"Bottom line," said Ballard skipper Giddy Potts, "we didn't play well enough to win."
