Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Ellesmere Island Snowpeople take on the Maine Sea Dogs.

Maine starter Jerry Barnes pitched well against the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople at The Igloo. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-4, in 10 innings. Haico Ulderink picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 4-2. R.J. Farrell suffered the loss.

Maine used the timely hitting of Wayne Harris to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Sea Dogs on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Barnes.

The first-place Sea Dogs have a one-game lead in their division.
