The Greenport Harbor Whales got a superb performance from pitcher Tom McKerchar, but the Northwest Territory Beavers still won the game, 4-3. McKerchar threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. Sergio Pérez claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 2.1 innings. His record stands at 7-1. Jody Dunn was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 26 of 29 save opportunities.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Armando Rivera? The 21-year old second baseman Rivera stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put Northwest Territory up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Northwest Territory manager Robert Acker.

With the win, Northwest Territory raised its record to 53-34.
