The Greenport Harbor Whales earned a win at Ballpark of Robbins, stopping the Napanee Express, 4-2. Starting pitcher Dan McFarland played a big role in his team's success. Miguel Ortíz, who is tied for 2nd in the 3A- in saves with 24, earned the save for Greenport. Greenport now sits at 53-36, while Napanee falls to 53-36.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Ramón Cesina didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Napanee trailing 4-2, Cesina retired Reku Filppula to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Cesina, with a wink.
