Bats Fail for Snowpeople in 3-1 Loss
|
Alejandro Pineda, who is tied for 3rd in the 3A- with a 1.84 ERA, pitched a gem in leading Quebec City to a 3-1 victory over the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople. Kenzo Suzuki picked up his 1st save of the season. Ellesmere Island, at 38-52, has lost 6 straight.
Pineda, who dominated for Quebec City, earned the victory to move to 5-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 2 hits over 8.2 innings, while striking out 5. Ellesmere Island batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Gary MacHardy.
