Quebec City Falters Again, Loses, 4-2, to Ellesmere Island
|
Another game, another loss for the struggling Quebec City Baby Blues.
The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople beat the Quebec City Baby Blues, 4-2, at Dylan Park. The Snowpeople got a fine performance from pitcher Bob Ryan, who threw 9.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Ryan, who is tied for 9th in the 3A- in runs scored with 50, went the distance for Ellesmere Island. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits.
Ellesmere Island used the hitting of Carlos Solís to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Snowpeople on top, 2-1. For the game, Solís had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"If it's down the middle," said Ryan, "you might as well hit it."
Now 36-55, Quebec City has dropped 10 straight.
