The Ballard Beavers picked up a win at Dylan Park, knocking off the Quebec City Baby Blues, 4-3. Starting pitcher Ray Melton was a big reason why. In 6.1 innings, Melton surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Ballard has run its win streak to 6 consecutive.
Jurrie Kila, who is tied for 3rd in the 3A- in triples with 4, helped out the Ballard cause in the top of the sixth inning with a 2-run triple. For the game, the shortstop was 1-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Melton.
