In a low-scoring affair between the Ladue Rams and the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, pitcher Stanley Rowe was the difference between victory and defeat. The Ladue left-hander earned kudos in the 3-1 Rams win. Robert Poynter, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 20th save. Ladue now owns a record of 42-51.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Rams had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when designated hitter Sheng Tung hit a 2-run home run. The home run came off Jim Wall and made the score 2-0, Rams. Tung was 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"Bottom line," said Plattsburgh skipper Allen Carlson, "we didn't play well enough to win."
