The Long Island Ducks faced a tough opponent in Moose Jaw pitcher Thierry Mary, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Foresters Stadium by a final score of 5-3. Mary went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Long Island reliever Juan López snagged the win, upping his record to 3-2. Arturo Pérez shouldered the loss. Long Island bumps their record to 52-41 with the win.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Terrence O'Loughlin came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Moose Jaw pitcher Arturo Pérez, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Long Island on top, 4-3.
Long Island manager Don Martin commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
