Gators Beat Beavers, 3-2

Dodge Field was the site of a tense game between the Ballard Beavers and North Ft. Myers Gators.
Behind the hitting of Dale Evans, the North Ft. Myers Gators stopped the Ballard Beavers, 3-2. Evans went 3 for 3 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Gators. North Ft. Myers reliever Layton Irving picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Daniel Cummins was saddled with the loss.
Evans had a timely hit for North Ft. Myers in the bottom of the sixth. With North Ft. Myers trailing 2-1, he turned a first pitch fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 3-2, North Ft. Myers.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Ballard manager Giddy Potts. "But we decided not to take it."
North Ft. Myers is now 35-58, Ballard 52-41.
